Job Summary:
The Utility Tech Shipping and Receiving position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of medical devices and their accessories. This includes maintaining accurate documentation both for inbound shipments to the McKesson Biomed team and outbound shipments to other McKesson businesses and customers. Responsibilities encompass receiving, cleaning, and basic operation of portable biomedical equipment, as well as preparing and shipping outgoing equipment. Proficiency in McKesson’s software programs for documentation is essential. This position requires strong teamwork, cooperation, and communication skills in a fast-paced environment, along with active participation in business growth and productivity improvement initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming medical equipment, including physical receipt into the warehouse staging area and electronic documentation in McKesson’s system; verify bills of lading and document any discrepancies such as missing, short-dated, or damaged items.
- Assist in shipping operations by identifying necessary equipment for orders, verifying order accuracy, and packing shipments effectively for both onsite and other McKesson branches.
- Rotate responsibilities with other employees for deliveries and pickups using the McKesson Fleet Van.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain portable biomedical equipment to ensure optimal operating conditions.
- Support Biomed technicians and Utility Technicians in basic testing procedures.
- Keep the service area clean and organized, ensuring a safe environment for service personnel in compliance with ISO standards.
- Accurately enter data into databases and generate reports as needed.
- Meet department production goals consistently.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
