As a Waste Processing Team Lead under the direction of the Waste Processing Supervisor, you will be instrumental in managing a dedicated team of environmental technicians. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and efficient consolidation, treatment, storage, packing, transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste, adhering to environmentally responsible practices and the policies set forth by Clean Earth. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently while following directives are crucial for this role. Additionally, you will play a key role in training technicians to maintain compliance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately segregate and package materials for transport while completing necessary documentation in compliance with regulations and Clean Earth policies.
- Lead and oversee major projects, effectively managing team dynamics and workload.
- Communicate work schedules, allocate tasks, and assist team members in fulfilling job responsibilities in accordance with Clean Earth standards.
- Provide on-the-job training for technicians regarding equipment operation, service line processes, and documentation requirements.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety protocols and Job Safety Analysis procedures as outlined in Clean Earth’s policies.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to facilitate material movement for storage and loading.
- Collect samples of incoming waste for laboratory analysis and conduct onsite testing of unknown materials.
- Maintain accurate records for DOT and state officials as assigned.
- Assist in various operational areas, which may include occasional travel to client sites, production scheduling, and staff training support.
- Undertake other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.
Work Environment:
- Mandatory use of company-issued personal protective equipment, including eye and foot protection, hard hats, Tyvek coveralls, and respirators.
