Position Information
Join our dynamic Utility Mechanic teams as a Maintenance Technician Trainee, where you will be crucial in ensuring the optimal functioning of equipment utilized at state-permitted water reclamation and lift station sites. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining efficient and safe water reclamation processes. This position is situated within the Central Maintenance Division of the Water Department and requires mandatory on-call scheduling, including weekend and holiday shifts.
Essential Functions
As a Maintenance Technician Trainee, your responsibilities will include performing preventative and scheduled maintenance on major industrial equipment in the field. This encompasses inspecting, troubleshooting, disassembling, and overhauling various equipment, including cutters, bearings, pumps, and mechanical systems. Additionally, you will conduct general cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment and tools are operable, monitor operations for safety, and report any faulty equipment.
Provide technical repair services at pump stations and water reclamation facilities, interpreting schematics, diagnosing repairs, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications. You will also be tasked with troubleshooting and maintaining assigned lift stations, performing inspections, adjustments, and creating work orders as necessary.
Inventory management is also a key part of your role, where you will monitor and maintain parts and equipment supplies, ensuring timely unloading and organization of incoming shipments.
