About the Role
As the Welding and Metal Fabrication Team Lead at Central Moloney, you will hold a pivotal hands-on leadership position within our production facility in Panama City. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a dedicated team of welders and fabricators, driving them towards achieving daily production targets while upholding the esteemed quality, safety, and efficiency standards that CMI represents. This is not merely a support role; you will be the go-to person for your team in need of guidance and the key resource for management to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily welding and metal fabrication operations to fulfill production schedules and meet customer demands.
- Maintain oversight of weld quality and fabrication output to ensure adherence to CMI standards, blueprints, and specifications.
- Facilitate the training and onboarding of new welders and fabricators by sharing best practices and reinforcing proper techniques.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and real-time performance feedback to team members.
- Identify and promptly report any production bottlenecks, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the Production Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to welding and metal fabrication, including proper use of PPE and hazard awareness.
- Keep accurate production records, including output tracking, scrap logs, and shift reports.
- Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to assist in workflow planning and staffing adjustments.
- Inspire team members to achieve daily targets while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Take on additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in welding and/or metal fabrication within a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Previous experience in a leadership, mentoring, or supervisory role is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick, or similar) and fabrication techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the capability to provide clear direction on a fast-paced production floor.
