About the job
The Worship Experience Pastor plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the weekend worship experience for our congregation. Leading worship, managing production and programming, and nurturing volunteer teams are key responsibilities. This full-time position reports directly to the Lead Congregation Pastor and typically requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, including weekend services, meetings at our Irvine office, and additional weekday responsibilities. This role is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Key Responsibilities
Programming
- Collaborate with the Central team and the Lead Pastor to design and implement the adult weekend experience.
- Oversee the execution of worship, programming, and production to ensure a seamless and engaging weekend for all attendees.
- Ensure that services are conducted with minimal distractions to worship, hosting, or messages.
- Work closely with the guest experience team to create a welcoming and cohesive atmosphere for all guests.
Worship Leadership
- Act as the primary worship leader, featuring singing and instrument performance as necessary.
- Lead and mobilize volunteer worship teams within the congregation.
- Conduct auditions, onboarding, and scheduling for volunteers.
- Enhance the musical skills of team members while collaborating with the Central team’s training programs.
- Foster connections and discipleship among volunteers.
- Manage and maintain the musical instruments entrusted to your care.
Production Oversight
- Serve as the primary lead for production, possessing foundational knowledge of the AVL components you oversee.
- Recruit and manage production volunteers at the congregation.
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, and scheduling for production volunteers.
- Develop the technical abilities of your team, partnering with Central team training programs.
- Engage volunteers in meaningful connection and discipleship.
- Manage and maintain production equipment assigned to you.
