About the job
Are you a young academic talent in the STEM field, eager to become one of the architects behind the world's most innovative simulation and training systems in both military and civil aviation? Do you want to apply your technical expertise to develop groundbreaking simulation technologies? If so, we are looking for you!
The success of aviation operations is increasingly determined not just in the air, but by the advanced simulations and training that precede them!
What Will You Do?
As a Junior R&D Engineer in the simulation technology team, you will focus on developing a wide array of innovative technologies, models, and components for various simulation purposes. You will conduct experiments and evaluations using cutting-edge simulation technology largely developed by your team. This collaborative work will involve close consultation with future operational end-users such as pilots, loadmasters, UAS operators, air traffic controllers, and combat leaders. You will efficiently apply your continuously evolving skills in modern software engineering methods and techniques, extended reality (XR), cloud and network technology, cybersecurity, aerospace systems, visual database modeling, simulation protocols, and interoperability standards. Together, you will create pioneering simulation technologies that truly matter.
Within your team, you will frequently collaborate with colleagues from other teams on various projects that deliver high-quality technological simulation and training solutions to end-users in aviation operations. This includes networking with next-generation flight simulators for joint pilot training, immersive XR environments for aircraft maintenance training, and AI simulation systems that daily support operators of autonomous systems.
You will have regular contact and interactive work sessions with these end-users to develop groundbreaking comprehensive solutions. Your enthusiasm and willingness to delve into the operational world of these users is essential, as you will not only work from your desk but also engage with these operational users on-site, often in collaboration with industry and knowledge partners worldwide.
