Role overview
The Lab Manager will lead day-to-day operations at Medra’s ML001 laboratory in San Francisco. This position focuses on maintaining a safe, efficient, and audit-ready facility. The Lab Manager works closely with scientists, engineers, and operations staff to support high laboratory utilization and smooth workflows.
What you will do
- Supervise daily lab activities, ensuring instruments, consumables, and workspaces are ready for use.
- Set up and maintain preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for all lab equipment.
- Manage inventory systems, including tracking supply levels, setting reorder points, and handling vendor relationships.
- Keep detailed asset records, covering warranty details and equipment lifecycle management.
- Create, update, and enforce standard operating procedures and laboratory protocols.
- Coordinate with external vendors for facilities management, including HVAC, cold storage, and lab layout needs.
Collaboration
This role requires regular interaction with Medra’s scientists, engineers, and operations team members to ensure the lab supports ongoing research and development goals.
