Completion of 10-20 hours of college chemistry along with some laboratory experience. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science discipline is preferred but not required. Skills and Competencies:Strong oral and written communication abilities. High attention to detail and analytical skills for evaluating outcomes against standards. Capability to diagnose standard instrument issues independently and assist peers. Proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities to optimize laboratory efficiency. Preference for familiarity with HPLC and GC operations.

Job Overview:

Join our Quality Control laboratory within an agricultural chemicals manufacturing facility. This role involves conducting routine analyses on intermediates, final products, and waste byproducts generated at the site.

Role Summary:

The Laboratory Technician will execute analytical testing on all samples within the Analytical Services laboratory. You will provide crucial data for quality control, process management, product development, and waste management.

The laboratory operates continuously, requiring availability for any of the three shifts, including weekends and overnight shifts. The shifts include overnight (8 PM - 6:30 AM), days (6 AM - 2:30 PM), and evenings (10 AM - 8:30 PM).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine analytical tests across various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Seek additional work to enhance team productivity.
  • Prepare and analyze diverse sample types using advanced physical and chemical techniques and instrumentation such as pH meters, gas chromatographs (GC), High Pressure Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC), spectrophotometers, and more.
  • Perform microbiological tests to assess spore counts and contamination levels.
  • Utilize STARLiMS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Waters Empower to manage laboratory data efficiently.
  • Research databases for test methods, specifications, and standards necessary for completing analyses. Accurately record and report analytical results.
  • Maintain compliance with internal requirements as well as ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001). Conduct daily instrument calibrations and inspections.
  • Adhere to safety practices and may serve as Safety Officer for the shift.
  • Manage laboratory supplies, prepare solutions, maintain cleanliness, and assist in overall lab operations.
  • Follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
  • Review analytical data and LIMS reports.
