Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field.8+ years of experience in land development, infrastructure, or project management. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in data center operations, site development, and construction processes. Proven ability to support large-scale initiatives and cross-functional teams. Experience in conducting feasibility studies and evaluating potential development sites. Knowledge of environmental assessments, zoning regulations, and land use planning.

AECOM is actively seeking a Land Development Lead for Data Centers with a strong drive for excellence to become a vital part of our Buildings + Places Team in Arlington, VA. In this dynamic role, you will oversee the planning, direction, and execution of numerous projects that encompass land development, due diligence, campus planning, site design, and entitlements for cutting-edge digital infrastructure. You will work closely with leadership to foster a skilled land development team capable of meeting the site design, infrastructure, and entitlements needs associated with technology, manufacturing, and other industrial applications. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive background in site development engineering, planning, and data centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers, planners, and consultants.
  • Establish trust with clients, local communities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing land opportunities that align with the long-term growth of data centers.
  • Ensure accountability for the overall outcomes of projects, including goal setting, team leadership, and compliance with budget and timelines.
  • Undertake various management and leadership duties for a specific technical group or department.
  • Drive the completion of due diligence, zoning, permitting, and entitlement processes.
  • Plan and oversee risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and transparent communication.
  • Recruit, mentor, and guide less experienced staff members.
  • Provide specialized technical insights for studies and designs relevant to the team’s expertise.
  • Deliver complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of work produced by others.
  • Contribute to the development of technical proposals.
  • Expand a team of professionals supporting land development.
