Role Overview

  • Lead a team focused on designing and developing advanced communications and data link systems to strengthen Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN).
  • Support current CHAOS sensor products with essential communications capabilities.
  • Drive innovation in new communication product families with advanced features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop directive data links to connect nodes within a CDN.
  • Implement methods to reduce the RF signature of data links.
  • Work with timing experts to integrate precise time-transfer algorithms into the network.
  • Lead the development of new communications features with limited supervision.
  • Identify or build cost-effective, rugged hardware to keep data links working in tactical, mobile environments.
  • Research and apply techniques for node positioning without relying on GPS.
  • Use algorithms to enable advanced directional beamforming.
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time operation and efficient resource use.
  • Deploy algorithms in software (such as C++, Python, MATLAB) and/or hardware (such as FPGA).
