Xero is looking for a Lead Data Analyst for an 11-month contract based in Sydney (45 Clarence St). This role focuses on building advanced marketing analytics frameworks to support quick, informed decisions. The Lead Data Analyst will guide the requirements gathering, data collection, and analysis that help Xero reach its digital and customer goals.
By generating actionable insights from a range of platforms, this position directly shapes marketing strategy and influences customer behavior. The work supports acquisition, retention, and personalization initiatives with solid, data-backed evidence.
Team Collaboration
This role reports to the Advanced Analytics Manager and works closely with a team in Australia. Regular collaboration with departments such as Customer Engagement helps track trends and understand the customer landscape. The analytics team’s work ensures Xero’s global community benefits from strong technology and insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze marketing experiments and deliver assessments that help partner teams set priorities.
- Design and evaluate A/B tests and experiments to improve digital performance and customer engagement.
- Create data assets and production-ready models for reporting and strategic decisions.
- Give feedback to engineering teams on data quality issues to improve instrumentation and coverage.
Work Arrangement
This is an 11-month contract role, covering parental leave. Xero offers a hybrid work model: a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration days to support teamwork and connection.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills and experience with large, complex data platforms.
- Understanding of experimentation frameworks and A/B testing methods.
- Ability to turn unstructured data into clear narratives and visualizations for non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with tools like Python, Google Analytics, or BigQuery for data extraction and manipulation.
