Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, thermal and fluid systems, motors, lighting, and other commercial and industrial systems.5+ years of experience in the energy efficiency or building efficiency sector is highly preferred. Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and adhering to budget constraints. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and analytical abilities. Proficient in distilling complex concepts into clear communications. Comfortable managing projects with varying degrees of ambiguity. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel. Located in or near Des Moines, IA, or willing to relocate. Must be able to travel locally up to 25%.

Resource Innovations is excited to invite a highly skilled Lead Energy Efficiency Engineer to our expanding team in Iowa. This role is designed for a motivated professional with a robust background in energy management and custom engineering. As a Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in equipping our clients with the tools and insights necessary to recognize, assess, and implement cost-effective energy efficiency initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to commercial and industrial clients, utility partners, and program staff.
  • Conduct energy audits and retro-commissioning studies at client facilities to identify and verify energy efficiency measures.
  • Develop and maintain technical tools and calculators for evaluating energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Offer prompt technical feedback and program insights, actively listening to client needs, managing expectations, and delivering on commitments.
  • Champion energy efficiency initiatives by identifying obstacles and proposing effective solutions.
  • Support RI's utility programs under the guidance of the Office Head or Program Manager to meet program energy savings targets.
  • Create high-quality deliverables, including reports and spreadsheets, with minimal quality control oversight.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients.
  • Gather feedback, advocate for necessary changes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
