What You Will Do
This Lead Engineer role sits within the Experience & Engineering team in Germany. The team combines technology and design to build digital products and campaigns that drive measurable results and shape how brands are perceived.
The Lead Engineer will set the strategic course for the Engineering teams, managing a group of 7-9 people (including Team Leads and Senior Engineers). The position will move from hands-on coding toward system architecture, process improvement, and mentoring. A key focus will be championing AI-driven development across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Leadership Development: Coach and mentor Team Leads and Senior Engineers, supporting their professional growth and effectiveness.
- AI Integration: Define and implement a plan for integrating AI tools (such as GitHub Copilot and Agentic Workflows) into engineering practices to increase efficiency and foster innovation.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee performance metrics, resource planning, budget, and utilization to help scale the engineering department.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Directors and VPs to shape DEPT®’s technology direction in the DACH region and advise key clients on technical matters.
- Cultural Leadership: Build and maintain an inclusive, high-performing culture that values knowledge sharing and modern engineering practices.
