fuku is searching for a Lead Engineer with deep experience in Node.js and Python, especially where machine learning meets real-world impact. This fully remote role is open to candidates based anywhere in Malaysia. fuku, headquartered in Singapore, focuses on improving compliance in early-stage clinical trials and aims to broaden patient access to new pharmaceutical treatments.

The company’s mission centers on advancing compliance technology for clinical trials. As fuku grows, this position offers a clear path to progress from Lead Engineer to Head of Engineering.
What You Will Do
- Spend about 70% of your time coding in Node.js, Python, and JavaScript. A genuine enthusiasm for hands-on development is essential.
- Lead and mentor a small group of Data, A. I., and Software Developers, while managing two external vendors (about 30% of your time).
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, design architecture, and build scalable cloud solutions ready for enterprise use.
- Drive new features from concept through production, including documentation, code refactoring, and backlog management.
- Develop user interfaces that are intuitive and responsive.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain systems using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise in Node.js and at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Next, Vue, or Angular).
- Strong Python skills, particularly in data engineering tasks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Background in a scale-up or start-up, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Bonus: Experience with machine learning and A. I. technologies.
Team and Reporting
- This role reports directly to the CTO and Co-Founder.
- You will be the most senior engineer on the team.
- Expect to collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams.
- Ideal candidates have 8-12 years of relevant experience.
