As the Lead Laser Beamline Engineer, you will be responsible for the optimal functioning of the Phoenix beamlines, which include a sophisticated array of seed lasers and optical systems. Your role will involve collaborating with the Xcimer science team to schedule beamline operations for experiments, maintenance, and system enhancements. You will lead a talented team of engineers and technicians to ensure the laser and optical systems are ready for essential testing phases. Additionally, you will conduct post-experiment data reviews to verify system performance and identify any necessary adjustments prior to upcoming experiments.
Beyond your responsibilities as Lead Laser Beamline Engineer, you will have the opportunity to learn from our subject matter experts and be among the first to qualify for a position on the shot operations team. Once qualified, you will join the shot operations team for select Phoenix experiments, where you will guide system controllers and operators in executing critical procedures during our laser experiment operations.
