The Lead Quality Assurance Engineer position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role focuses on shaping and executing quality assurance strategies to help deliver high-quality software products. The Lead QA Engineer also plays a key part in representing QA during cross-functional meetings and offers feedback with the end user in mind. Leading a small team of QA Engineers on certain projects may be part of the job.
What you will do
- Plan, analyze, design, and develop test cases using requirements documentation and practical testing methods to ensure thorough coverage.
- Carry out manual functional and non-functional testing, and execute automated test scripts to check code quality.
- Log defects and manage them through to resolution.
- Take full ownership of QA activities for assigned projects, including analyzing test scope and preparing test exit reports.
- Update and maintain test cases and test plans as project needs evolve.
- Document test results and analyses, summarizing key areas tested.
- Set up test environments and prepare test data based on project requirements.
- Guide a small group of QA Engineers on testing projects when required.
- Share progress and relevant updates with the Software QA Lead.
