We are seeking a passionate Staff Security Software Engineer who specializes in identifying and preventing cloud-related abuse.

As a Staff Security Software Engineer at DigitalOcean, you will become a crucial part of a dynamic team committed to transforming cloud computing and AI. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Security Engineering, you will leverage your experience in developing and maintaining complex software systems at scale while analyzing outcomes and effectively communicating insights to stakeholders. You will be responsible for creating solutions that align with our overarching business objectives. Our focus is on enabling DigitalOcean to grow securely by developing systems that detect and mitigate abuse on our platform. Collaboration and growth are at the heart of what we do, as we work closely with various teams within the Security organization to deliver high-quality solutions and enhance their operational efficiency.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust services and tools that deliver security functionalities at scale, primarily using Go, with some contributions in JavaScript and Python.
  • Research and implement automated methods for detecting and addressing abuse and misuse of DigitalOcean’s products and services.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and implement secure architectures.
  • Create internal tools that empower our Security Operations Center to operate more efficiently.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our services and tools, utilizing logs, metrics, and audit records to inform reporting and decision-making, driving continuous and transformative security enhancements as DigitalOcean expands.
