Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or equivalent qualifications or experienceAt least 8 years of experience in rail infrastructure designMinimum of 3 years in the role of Lead Technical Engineer for Rail Infrastructure, with experience leading design teamsFluency in English and Swedish, both spoken and writtenExperience in developing construction documentation and tender documents within rail infrastructureFamiliarity with AMA and TB/MF standardsProficient in MicrostationPreferred Qualifications:Experience working collaboratively with international teamsExperience in the design of ground/track foundationsKnowledge of Power Rail Track and/or OpenrailAdditional Desired Qualifications:Experience in project phases including consultation and railway planningExperience in developing tender documents for rail projects

AECOM is currently seeking a Lead Technical Engineer for Rail Infrastructure to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will take charge of leading efforts in the technical domain of rail infrastructure. Project sizes will range from smaller initiatives to large multidisciplinary projects conducted in collaboration with our broader design team. As the Lead Technical Engineer, you will also actively engage in project scheduling, financial oversight, quality assurance, and risk management among other daily responsibilities.

We are presently involved in some of the most complex and significant infrastructure projects in Sweden related to roads and railways. Our work environment is highly international, with English being used daily as we collaborate with colleagues from around the globe, particularly from various European countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the technical representative for rail infrastructure to clients and project management
  • Identify and communicate essential client requirements to the team while overseeing their implementation
  • Participate in client meetings and internal design discussions
  • Coordinate activities with related technical areas
  • Monitor and report on the progress of the technical domain against schedule and budget
  • Identify and communicate project changes
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes and documentation
  • Build and maintain a network of professionals from other countries in the rail domain to support our projects
  • Engage in upselling opportunities within our projects and contribute to business development
  • Assist the management team with bid preparation.
