As a Level II System and Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing IT infrastructure for diverse client environments. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure the reliable operation and security of both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Azure, and various firewall technologies. A solid grasp of virtualization platforms, particularly VMWare, is essential. Familiarity with remote access tools, monitoring solutions, and ticketing systems is also necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network and System Administration:
- Oversee and maintain client network infrastructures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies from major vendors like Cisco, SonicWall, and Palo Alto.
- Manage server environments, both on-premises and in the cloud, utilizing Windows Server (2008-2022) and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Hyper-V.
- Support and administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Azure, focusing on user management and cloud services.
- Implement and manage firewall and VPN solutions, such as Cisco AnyConnect, Meraki, SonicWall, and Fortinet, to ensure secure remote access.
- Security and Compliance:
- Monitor and configure security protocols, including intrusion detection/prevention systems and anti-virus solutions.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and patch management to maintain compliance with best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to design and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for system, network, and application issues.
- Utilize remote management tools for efficient diagnosis and resolution of issues, minimizing disruption to client operations.
- Troubleshoot a wide range of issues across various client environments, from desktop problems to complex network challenges.
- Virtualization and Cloud Services:
- Administer VMWare environments, focusing on the installation, configuration, and maintenance of virtual servers.
- Offer expertise in Azure cloud services to meet client requirements for scalable and resilient infrastructure.
- Collaboration and Ticket Management:
- Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to deliver effective IT solutions.
- Employ ticketing systems such as ConnectWise, Kaseya, and ServiceNow to manage support requests efficiently.
