Join our dynamic and rapidly expanding Engineering team as a Licensed Civil Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of various engineering and technical disciplines involved in our projects. You will be responsible for scheduling, planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and managing all technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality from inception to completion. Additionally, you will oversee and mentor a team of civil design engineers, fostering collaboration within the team and with other Project Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management and development of comprehensive development projects, including grading, drainage, water retention, retaining walls, sewer/wastewater systems, road/transportation design, site layout, and utilities for site design projects.
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and track assigned engineering projects to ensure timely completion.
- Analyze surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project challenges and devise effective strategies to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
- Perform drainage calculations for storm sewer designs, hydraulic systems, detention ponds, and water quality measures.
- Guide the design team in addressing redlines and revising plans.
- Research and review relevant ordinances, technical reports, and municipal, state, and federal codes to ensure full compliance.
- Engage with city, county, and state officials to verify all project requirements are met.
- Collaborate with project coordinators and fellow project engineers to provide project status updates, discuss challenges, and make necessary plan adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, quality assurance/quality control policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Maintain regular communication with Project Coordinators to ensure projects stay on track and that clients are well-informed about their project's progress.
- Interface with clients to interpret their needs and requirements, representing them effectively in the field.
- Conduct overall quality control assessments of project work (budget, schedule, plans, team performance) and report regularly on project status.
- Delegate responsibilities, mentor the project team, and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Manage, design, develop, and maintain construction projects of varying scales safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
- Perform on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings, etc.).
- Evaluate potential risks, materials, and costs associated with projects.
- Attend planning meetings as necessary.
