Position Summary

Join Olsson's esteemed South Facilities Engineering and Design team, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional building designs across various sectors, including healthcare, education, data centers, laboratories, commercial, and federal markets. This position offers you the opportunity to take ownership of your designs, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and oversee the project through construction, all while enhancing your technical expertise and leadership skills through diverse and complex facility projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of structural systems (steel, concrete, masonry, light gauge) with a focus on gravity and lateral analysis, calculations, and detailed documentation.
  • Create and review drawings and models using Revit/AutoCAD; ensure seamless coordination with architectural, MEP, and civil teams for a fully integrated project outcome.
  • Implement relevant codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360) to guarantee safe, constructible, and cost-effective designs.
  • Assist in project planning by estimating efforts, sequencing design tasks, and upholding scope, schedule, and quality commitments.
  • Engage in quality assurance and control by conducting self-checks and peer reviews; incorporate feedback to enhance deliverables.
  • Participate actively during construction by reviewing submittals/RFIs, conducting site assessments, and documenting observations to inform design refinements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians by providing guidance on tasks, model setup, and adherence to standards.
