Main responsibilities Clean all areas of the shelter daily, including removing trash, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting bathrooms and surfaces. Restock essential supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, garbage liners, air freshener, and hand soap. Care for cleaning equipment by washing mop heads and keeping floor machines free of dust and debris. Act as the main contact for contractors and vendors who provide linens, pest control, and other key services. Maintain the grounds at both Katherine Hanley and Kate’s Place, collecting trash and removing debris as needed. Assist with repairs and installation of shelter furnishings and equipment, and stay informed about appliance operations and service needs. Support annual maintenance at Kate’s Place, such as changing air filters and checking smoke detectors. Log and report maintenance requests for both shelter sites and help troubleshoot facility issues. Assist front desk staff as needed, which may include answering phones, helping clients, and driving shelter vans.
