This Local Owner Operator - Tanker Driver position is based in Detroit, Michigan. Drivers run local routes and return home daily. The role is intended for owner operators seeking a long-term partnership with a company that values experience and provides strong support.
Main responsibilities
- Transport chemical and petroleum products using tank trailers, following all DOT and Hazmat regulations.
- Maintain your truck to meet inspection standards and keep it in top condition.
- Handle loading and unloading at customer sites, including ISO/Flexi-Bag or Tanker operations, using proper procedures.
- Keep accurate logs, submit required paperwork, and uphold compliance standards.
- Represent Altom Transport professionally at all customer locations.
- Oversee business operations: manage fuel purchases, plan trips, and schedule efficiently to maximize revenue.
- Meet mileage or hour requirements to ensure a steady workload.
- Be available 24/7 and respond as needed.
