We are excited to invite applications for a Logistics Associate Internship for the Spring or Summer semester of 2019, based in our Chicago Merchandise Mart Showroom.
As a Logistics Associate Intern, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Accurately entering SKU data for our complete product range, covering both manufacturer and Broome + Greene items, into two separate databases: our e-commerce platform and the buying team's master Excel file.
- Updating and maintaining wholesale, trade, and retail pricing across all databases, including the master Excel file and tear sheets.
- Processing customer orders, which includes generating Purchase Orders for manufacturers and vendors and confirming their receipt.
- Utilizing freight portals to obtain shipping quotes and arranging delivery schedules that align with customer availability while being cost-effective.
- Securing Bills of Lading and coordinating with manufacturers and vendors to facilitate customer order releases.
- Providing customers with delivery status updates and addressing assigned support tickets.
- Managing discount arrangements and replacements for customers with damaged shipments, including filing claims with transportation companies or manufacturers/vendors.
- Assisting the business affairs team with invoice approvals by meticulously checking purchase order reports and reconciling incoming invoices.
This position will oversee orders originating from our Chicago showroom, as well as our online store and New York City retail location.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated analytical skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor complemented by a robust work ethic and professional attitude.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills and phone etiquette.
- A keen eye for detail, with a focus on achieving results.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other relevant software.
- Capability to quickly assimilate product information.
- Willingness to take ownership of tasks and execute them efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to collaborate with team members across all company departments.
This internship is unpaid; however, we provide daily lunch and reimburse reasonable travel expenses. Course credit can also be arranged.
