About the RoleIn the role of Machine Learning Engineer at Mercor, you will blend backend engineering skills with applied machine learning expertise. Our ML Engineers are versatile professionals, responsible for deploying production systems that enhance performance prediction, search functionality, recommendation engines, and fraud detection. Your contributions will integrate statistical and modeling precision into our core product outcomes. You will work collaboratively with product engineers and operations to create systems that significantly influence how businesses attract talent and how candidates uncover opportunities. Your ResponsibilitiesConduct research, train, and deploy ML models for engagement prediction, scoring, and search. Develop backend infrastructure and APIs that ensure reliable, scalable model performance. Execute experiments, analyze outcomes, and iterate quickly to enhance models and product performance. Work cross-functionally with Operations and Product to translate business challenges into model-driven solutions. Adapt to various roles: backend engineer, applied ML practitioner, and product problem-solver. Qualifications We SeekRobust backend engineering expertise (e.g., Python/Django or similar) coupled with a solid grounding in applied machine learning and statistics. Demonstrated experience in delivering production systems or ML-driven products from inception to deployment. A strong sense of ownership and comfort in navigating ambiguous environments.
