About the job
About Neuralink:
At Neuralink, we are pioneering the development of advanced devices that facilitate a bi-directional interface with the human brain. Our groundbreaking technology aims to restore mobility to individuals with paralysis, provide vision to those who are blind, and redefine human interaction with the digital landscape.
About the Team:
The Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) team is at the forefront of creating software and systems that decode neural signals into meaningful actions, such as cursor movement, typing, and robotic arm control. We also innovate by encoding real-world data, like video feeds, into neural data to project visuals directly into the brain's visual cortex. Our close collaboration with users allows us to gather crucial feedback, enhancing the user experience and interface of our BCI technology.
About the Role:
As a Machine Learning Engineer on the BCI team, you will harness signal processing and machine learning to facilitate communication with the brain. You will work with state-of-the-art neural interface hardware and contribute to the development of cutting-edge neural encoders and decoders. We value innovative solutions that are grounded in fundamental principles, and no prior neuroscience knowledge is required.
All hardware is designed in-house, from custom ASICs to thin-film arrays, allowing for complete flexibility in technical design. Your insights will significantly influence the architecture of next-generation devices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Telepathy Product: Enhance models that decode neural data, empowering individuals with paralysis to type at speeds of 35 words per minute or control robotic arms for daily activities.
- Blindsight Product: Develop research questions that guide the creation of neural networks and signal processing algorithms aimed at restoring vision for the blind.
- Utilize your expertise in neural networks and data science to build foundational models for machine learning applications in BCI.
- Lead by example, setting high standards for system design and operation.
- Inform our hardware roadmap by understanding user needs and pinpointing impactful product features.
About You:
- Proficient in production-level C/C++/Rust and Python programming.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and deploying real-time machine learning products.
- Solid understanding of signal processing, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
