Role Overview
The Manager of Community Operations oversees firsthand’s community-based staff in Roanoke, Virginia. This leader ensures consistent, scalable, and person-centered practices across the market. The role supports teams as they conduct outreach, build trust, engage clients, navigate benefits, and perform clinical reviews. Responsibilities include hiring, supervising, and supporting staff performance.
This position involves work in the community, often in non-traditional or unstructured settings. Experience supervising peer recovery specialists or behavioral health staff is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of peers, social workers, and clinicians in line with firsthand’s mission.
- Take responsibility for the Community Team’s success, including direct supervision and coordination of community-based staff.
- Ensure operational and strategic plans are carried out smoothly, adapting as the organization grows or changes.
- Work with the Senior Director of Operations to expand firsthand’s presence and referral network with Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), health systems, and other partners.
