About the job

About Fourier

At Fourier, we are dedicated to making hydrogen production accessible on-site for everyone. Our innovative architecture allows for highly modular and fully automated electrolyzer systems that can efficiently scale across diverse operating conditions. With the support of top-tier venture investors, we are creating tangible hardware solutions that facilitate the shift towards a sustainable energy future.

About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will play a crucial role in transitioning our electrolyzer systems from prototype to mass production. This position is pivotal, bridging the areas of design, supply chain, and manufacturing. You will take ownership of the entire manufacturing process, enhancing build quality, ensuring repeatability, reducing costs, and increasing throughput as we grow. This is an exciting opportunity to establish an electrolyzer system assembly line from the ground up and influence the transformation of manufacturing at Fourier.

This is a hands-on role that involves direct collaboration with hardware, technicians, and interdisciplinary engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for electro/mechanical/fluidic systems.

  • Own manufacturing process flows, work instructions, tool selection, BOMs, and build documentation.

  • Support prototype builds, pilot production, and facilitate the transition to low- and mid-volume manufacturing.

  • Identify and troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to yield, quality, cost, and reliability.

  • Collaborate with design engineers to influence Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) early in the design cycle.

  • Work closely with supply chain partners and vendors to qualify parts, tools, inventory, and manufacturing processes.

  • Design or specify fixtures, tooling, and test setups to support production and validation efforts.

  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for build or field issues.

  • Help define manufacturing KPIs and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or process engineering role.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, tolerance stack-ups, and production workflows.

  • Proven experience supporting hardware builds from prototype through to full-scale manufacturing.
