Job Overview
We are looking for a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on production to significantly contribute to the advancement and optimization of manufacturing processes for our cutting-edge autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). This role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to guarantee the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality ASVs for the Department of Defense (DoD).
Responsibilities
Process Development: Design and enhance manufacturing processes for the production of autonomous surface vessels. Apply lean manufacturing principles to boost efficiency and minimize waste within the production workflow.
Collaboration: Partner with design and engineering teams to ensure the seamless incorporation of design specifications into the manufacturing process. Engage with suppliers and vendors to source and validate materials essential for production.
Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures to uphold the highest product quality standards. Perform root cause analysis and initiate corrective actions for any production-related challenges.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and act on opportunities for ongoing enhancements in manufacturing processes. Stay updated on industry advancements and emerging technologies to integrate innovations into our manufacturing practices.
Documentation and Compliance: Generate and maintain thorough documentation for manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards. Collaborate with regulatory authorities to guarantee compliance with all applicable manufacturing standards.
Training and Support: Offer training and support to production staff to ensure proficient execution of manufacturing processes. Address and troubleshoot any issues that may emerge during production.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering, especially in the production of complex electromechanical systems.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and quality control methodologies.
