Role overview
The Manufacturing Engineer - Casting Tooling is based in the Guangzhou, China office. This position plays a key part in refining core manufacturing processes and acts as a bridge between builders (who order parts) and manufacturing partners (who produce and assemble them). The work is closely tied to Fictiv’s goal of building a leading hardware manufacturing platform.
What you will do
- Assess manufacturability and cost drivers for part fabrication, covering die casting, gravity casting, forging, and other tooling-intensive processes.
- Review mechanical assembly needs and recommend design changes to meet builder requirements.
- Estimate fabrication costs using mechanical engineering knowledge and experience with high-volume production.
- Assist in developing pricing calculators and automation tools to support quoting and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) workflows.
- Oversee the release and management of manufacturing processes to uphold efficiency and quality standards.
This role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Lead or Manager.
