Role Summary

Join our Starlight team, where we are on a mission to revolutionize space solar power, aligning with Starpath's core objectives and enhancing the broader space economy. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will take charge of the development and optimization of processes, tooling, and inspection techniques required for the high-rate manufacturing of space solar hardware, ensuring exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct acceptance testing for manufacturing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and production rates.
  • Create and implement precision tooling aimed at reducing assembly errors, enhancing quality, and minimizing cycle times.
  • Automate innovative processes to guarantee repeatability in high-volume production lines.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineering teams to optimize solar panel designs through design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Establish in-process inspection methods, including automated solutions, to detect issues early and improve first-pass yield.
  • Oversee the transition of hardware from development to production, ensuring that processes are thoroughly documented, stable, and scalable.
  • Advocate for simplification by reducing unnecessary complexities in specifications and workflows.
