ResponsibilitiesDeliver daily technical support for wire harness manufacturing processes including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, overmolding, braiding, labeling, and continuity testing. Create and update work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Enhance cycle times, workstation layouts, and material flow through Lean manufacturing methodologies. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues such as crimp pull failures and labeling errors. Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing first-pass yield (FPY), minimizing scrap, and enhancing throughput. Work collaboratively with design engineering to assess harness drawings, schematics, and BOMs for manufacturability (DFM/DFA). Develop process flows, tooling requirements, and justifications for capital equipment for new harness productions. Design and implement assembly fixtures, testing boards, and poka-yoke devices. Assist with pilot builds and production ramp-up efforts. Specify and validate tooling and wire processing equipment. Oversee calibration and preventative maintenance schedules for assembly and testing equipment. Ensure quality validation through rigorous testing, measurement, and analysis. Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and internal quality control requirements. Analyze production and quality metrics to identify trends and systemic issues. Participate in both internal and external audits as necessary.
