New Flyer seeks a Manufacturing Engineering and CNC Programming Supervisor to join the Winnipeg Transcona Fabco operations. This leadership role manages both engineering and CNC programming teams, providing technical guidance and direct support to production. The supervisor works to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and maintain high quality standards for fabricated parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise manufacturing engineering teams, ensuring effective support for production cells.
- Coordinate CNC programming activities and maintain strong operational support for production.
- Design and implement safe manufacturing processes and lead related projects.
- Participate in safety investigations, recommending and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leadership to achieve operational targets and drive process improvements.
- Lead engineering teams across all Fabco locations (excluding Carfair), aligning efforts with the Annual Operating Plan and strategic objectives.
- Guide continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles.
- Balance task and project workloads within the team to meet deadlines.
- Maintain up-to-date make-buy analysis, reflecting changes in routing manuals and plant capabilities.
- Support the manufacturing readiness process, focusing on equipment uptime and timely delivery of quality parts.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to enhance effectiveness and competitiveness.
- Develop and enforce policies and processes to meet Health, Safety & Environmental and Quality standards.
- Set departmental goals and metrics, holding team members accountable for results.
- Lead efforts to reduce machine downtime through preventive maintenance and operator training.
- Drive assigned strategic change projects to support organizational goals.
- Encourage continuous improvement and teamwork throughout the department.
