Job Overview
We are on the lookout for an exceptionally organized and detail-driven Material Handler to become an essential part of our vibrant team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in facilitating the smooth movement of materials and components critical to the production of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense (DoD). Your collaboration with multiple departments will be key as you oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials while ensuring precise inventory management.
Responsibilities
Receive and validate incoming shipments of materials and components against purchase orders and packing slips.
Efficiently organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring compliance with safety protocols during handling.
Maintain precise inventory records using electronic inventory management systems.
Prepare and package materials for outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and labeling.
Collaborate with procurement and production teams to promptly fulfill material requisition requests.
Monitor inventory levels, proactively identifying potential shortages or excesses and communicating with stakeholders for necessary adjustments.
Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure inventory integrity.
Assist in implementing lean manufacturing principles to optimize material flow and minimize waste.
Work alongside logistics partners to coordinate the transport of materials among suppliers, subcontractors, and production facilities.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is advantageous.
Demonstrated experience as a material handler or in a similar capacity within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and software; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders.
