Job Overview
We are looking for an exceptionally organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to become a vital member of our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in facilitating the seamless flow of materials and components essential for the manufacture of autonomous surface vessels for the Department of Defense. You will collaborate closely with multiple departments to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials while ensuring precise inventory records.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments of materials and components, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Organize and store materials in designated areas, adhering to safety protocols and proper handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using electronic inventory management systems.
- Prepare and package materials for outbound shipments with appropriate documentation and labeling.
- Coordinate with procurement and production teams to promptly fulfill material requisition requests.
- Monitor inventory levels, anticipating shortages or overages and adjusting orders as necessary.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Assist in implementing lean manufacturing principles to optimize material flow and reduce waste.
- Work alongside logistics partners to manage the transportation of materials between suppliers, subcontractors, and production facilities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and compliance standards.
