About the job
About Base Power
Base Power is at the forefront of the energy revolution in America. We are dedicated to redefining the very essence of modern civilization, electricity, by establishing an extensive network of distributed batteries that revitalizes the current fragile, centralized grid into a robust and plentiful energy system. Our team of engineers, operators, and creative thinkers tackle some of the most intricate and interdisciplinary challenges of our era.
About the Role
As the Material Planner, you will be the essential operational pillar of Base Power's manufacturing supply chain. This role demands a high level of ownership, ensuring material availability across our vertically integrated factories while effectively managing inventory health, costs, and production speed.
In this position, you will not merely release purchase orders or react to shortages. Instead, you will develop and oversee the comprehensive material planning strategy for critical components and assemblies, translating production plans and engineering modifications into actionable supply signals, driving supplier accountability, and constructing the planning systems and processes that will elevate our manufacturing capabilities.
This position operates at the intersection of Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Finance, making it perfect for individuals who thrive in uncertain environments, think systemically, and are motivated by the challenge of building resilient infrastructure from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead material planning and execution for designated commodities, components, or assemblies to support production, engineering builds, and ramp events.
- Convert production demands into actionable supply plans via ERP systems while maintaining service levels, inventory targets, and cost objectives.
- Design, manage, and continually enhance planning system parameters and master data to accurately represent supply chain capabilities and limitations.
- Coordinate material readiness for engineering changes, new part introductions, and product transitions, minimizing obsolescence and line risks.
- Provide clear-to-build status, material coverage insights, run-out risk assessments, and scenario analyses to guide production and leadership decisions.
- Apply analytical expertise to inventory strategy, safety stock sizing, and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) optimization across suppliers and production stages.
- Act as the primary operational liaison for assigned suppliers, enhancing delivery performance and resolution of supply chain issues.
