Role Overview:
Your contributions will involve various tasks tailored to each project, including:
- Designing innovative material engineering challenges that reflect true engineering workflows;
- Developing problems that necessitate Python programming for engineering simulations and calculations;
- Creating computationally intensive problems that require numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Formulating challenges involving system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Aligning problems with real-world research issues or practical engineering applications;
- Validating solutions through Python using established engineering libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing verified correct solutions.
Qualifications:
This opportunity suits material scientists and engineers proficient in Python, open to engaging in part-time, non-permanent projects. Ideally, candidates will possess:
- A degree in Material Science or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar programming languages is acceptable;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, which can include applied, research, or teaching roles;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering limitations and approximations;
- Exceptional written English skills (C1+).

Project Expectations:
For this role, tasks are anticipated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active phases, contingent on project demands. This is an estimation and not a guaranteed workload while the project is ongoing.
Compensation:
Contributors can earn up to $45 per hour, based on their contribution level and pace. Compensation may vary across projects depending on the scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please be aware that different projects on the platform may offer varying compensation rates based on their specific requirements.
