Opportunity Overview:
Each project presents distinct tasks, and contributors may be engaged in the following:
- Designing innovative material engineering problems that mirror authentic engineering workflows;
- Creating problems that require Python programming for engineering calculations and simulations;
- Ensuring problems are computationally intensive, necessitating numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Developing problems that incorporate system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Grounding problems in genuine research challenges or practical applications derived from engineering practice;
- Verifying solutions using Python with standard engineering libraries;
- Documenting problem statements clearly and providing verified correct answers.
Qualifications We Seek:
This role is ideal for material scientists and engineers with Python experience, open to part-time, non-permanent projects. The preferred candidates will possess:
- A degree in Material Science or a related field;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or any comparable programming language is acceptable;
- At least 2 years of professional experience, including applied work, research, or teaching;
- A strong understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Exceptional written English skills (C1+).

Project Time Commitment:
Estimated tasks will require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active phases, depending on project needs. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload.
Compensation:
Participants can earn up to $17 per hour, influenced by their contribution level and speed. Compensation varies across projects based on scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please note, other projects on the platform may offer different earning potentials based on their specific requirements.
