Role overview

This freelance Material Scientist with Python expertise will design original materials that reflect real-world engineering processes and challenges. Assignments focus on engineering scenarios, research questions, and practical problem-solving using computational tools.

What you will do

  • Create problems that require Python programming for engineering calculations or simulations.
  • Develop computationally intensive challenges using numerical methods or iterative solutions.
  • Formulate tasks involving system design, optimization, and analysis.
  • Ensure assignments are grounded in genuine research or practical engineering situations.
  • Validate solutions using Python and standard engineering libraries.
  • Write clear, precise problem statements and provide accurate, verified solutions.

Requirements

  • Background as a material scientist or engineer with strong Python skills.
  • Degree in Material Science or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation. Familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar libraries is valued.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in industry, research, or teaching.
