Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Integrated Cable Systems (ICS). The successful candidate will be involved in the design, development, and production of cable assemblies and wire harnesses specifically for aerospace, defense, and space applications. The ideal candidate should possess a robust technical foundation in electrical and mechanical harness design, be well-versed in industry standards, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to guarantee the delivery of high-quality and dependable products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Harness Design & Development:
Design and create wire harnesses and cable assemblies tailored for aerospace and defense sectors. Produce detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings utilizing tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical. Optimize wire routing and harness configurations for enhanced performance and manufacturability. Collaborate closely with customers, engineers, and production teams to meet design objectives. Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, MIL-STD, and other aerospace industry regulations. - Technical Analysis & Problem-Solving:
Assess electrical, mechanical, and environmental constraints to formulate robust harness solutions. Conduct voltage drop, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal analyses to validate designs. Address and resolve design-related challenges during prototyping, testing, and production stages. - Manufacturing Support:
Engage with production staff to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, clarify assembly instructions, and enhance manufacturability and assembly processes.
