Solid understanding of data center operations and mechanical equipment. Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on cost analysis and total ownership. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Position Overview:

The Mechanical Category Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping our Data Center equipment strategies for a diverse range of mechanical products, directly influencing our data center operations' growth and scalability.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee initiatives related to Data Center mechanical equipment.

  • Negotiate and manage complex programs involving Chillers, CRAHs, Fan Walls, CDUs, and other electrical equipment.

  • Oversee schedules, budgets, and costs for large-scale Data Center construction projects.

  • Foster collaboration with new and existing suppliers to streamline operations.

  • Lead the onboarding and selection of suppliers based on comprehensive cost and lead time analyses.

  • Provide insightful strategic guidance, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership to inform sourcing decisions.

  • Formulate implementation strategies, assign responsibilities, and establish communication plans and timelines.

  • Drive implementation efforts for mechanical equipment categories with significant business implications.

  • Ensure compliance with supplier agreements regarding speed, scope, and schedule.

  • Conduct detailed spend analyses, develop methodologies, and create tools to track progress and suggest improvements.

  • Negotiate and implement contractual agreements in line with company policies and objectives.

  • Identify and apply system solutions and best practices to optimize indirect sourcing and procurement processes.

  • Cultivate relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
