Position Overview:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development of innovative electro-mechanical systems, fusing mechanical engineering principles with state-of-the-art technology. This position requires proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and MathCAD for the creation and optimization of mechanical designs, ensuring their seamless integration with electrical components. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform conceptual ideas into tangible solutions, significantly contributing to the success of electro-mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of design packages related to ongoing R&D projects as assigned by the Lead Engineer.
  • Guide and mentor draftspersons on allocated scopes of work.
  • Review and validate design packages, including drawings, procedures, calculations, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot any manufacturing or testing issues as they arise.
  • Assist the team in creating training materials to enhance knowledge sharing.

Core Duties:

  • Electro-Mechanical Systems Design:
    • Develop intricate mechanical designs for electro-mechanical systems, focusing on functionality, manufacturability, and the integration of electrical components.
    • Work closely with electrical engineers to ensure cohesive integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Utilize Autodesk Inventor to produce 3D models and detailed engineering drawings of mechanical components.
  • Utilization of Software Tools:
    • Leverage Autodesk Vault for efficient version control and management of design data, promoting effective collaboration across teams.
    • Employ MathCAD for precise engineering calculations and analyses, ensuring the integrity and performance of mechanical designs.
    • Stay informed about the latest features and improvements in Inventor, Vault, and MathCAD, integrating them into the design workflow for enhanced efficiency.
