Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of payload component design from concept through to fabrication and testing. Develop and communicate mechanical requirements effectively across cross-functional teams to propel system development. Conduct initial structural and thermal sizing for components. Iterate on designs rapidly by integrating hardware into the development process to bring concepts to production. Create Design Data, Fabrication, and Production Drawings utilizing GD&T to ensure clarity of design intent while maintaining cost-effectiveness and manufacturability at scale. Incorporate tolerancing and statistical analysis into designs to achieve production objectives. Address manufacturing challenges and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues on the production floor.

Position Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Logos Space, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, validation, assembly, integration, testing, and operational success of our spacecraft fleet. You will be integral in the development of both bus and payload hardware, guiding projects from initial concept through to flight. This position requires close collaboration with Structures, Thermal, Electrical, and RF Engineers to create components and assemblies that not only meet rigorous system performance standards but can also be manufactured at scale.
