MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (STARSHIP COMPONENTS)
The Propulsion Components team at SpaceX is responsible for crafting the most advanced spacecraft and launch vehicle components globally. As part of this innovative group, you will serve as a hardware expert on essential flow and position control devices, which are pivotal for the Starship/Super Heavy Vehicle's performance—from regulators and butterfly valves to flap actuators. Your role will involve designing, developing, and characterizing components that emphasize simplicity, manufacturability, and reliability in extreme conditions, with temperatures varying from 80 to 800 K and pressures exceeding 800 bar. In this position, you will leverage your expertise and creativity to devise cutting-edge solutions in space technology, while managing your projects and collaborating with hardware/systems and manufacturing teams. You will play a significant role in vehicle architecture trades and lead design and flight readiness efforts for Starship, the vehicle set to make humanity multi-planetary.
