Opportunity Overview
Each project presents unique challenges, and contributors may be tasked with:
- Crafting original computational engineering problems that replicate authentic engineering workflows;
- Designing problems that necessitate Python programming for engineering calculations and simulations;
- Ensuring that problems are computationally intensive and require numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Creating problems focused on system design, optimization, and analysis;
- Using real research questions or practical engineering applications as the foundation for problems;
- Validating solutions through Python using standard engineering libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements with verified accurate answers.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for engineers experienced in Python who are open to part-time, non-permanent projects. Candidates should ideally possess:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation, with knowledge of MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other relevant programming languages as alternatives;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching experience;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering constraints and approximations;
- Strong command of written English (C1+ level);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are considered advantageous.

Project Time Expectations
For this project, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active phases, depending on project needs. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload, applicable only during the active project period.
Compensation
Participants can earn up to $37 per hour, contingent on their experience and contribution pace. Please note that compensation may vary across different projects based on scope, complexity, and required expertise.
