About the job
Observable Space is at the forefront of space exploration, delivering essential hardware and software solutions that enable organizations to operate in the cosmos. Our innovative technologies facilitate continuous, real-time observations of space, featuring the industry’s first array of vertically integrated products. As a leader in advanced telescope design and manufacturing within the United States, our offerings cater to a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, scientific, educational, government, and astronomy enthusiasts eager to explore the universe.
Supported by prominent institutional investors such as Upfront Ventures, Oceans Ventures, Venrex, Marlinspike Partners, and Embedded Ventures, we are poised for exponential growth.
We invite a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the mechanical design, analysis, and validation of precision large-scale optical hardware for spacecraft applications. This pivotal role entails the development of instrument structures, mounts, and critical assemblies that must withstand launch loads, vacuum conditions, radiation exposure, and extreme thermal variations. You will be instrumental in designing and validating optomechanical systems that ensure optical alignment and wavefront performance from ground tests through to on-orbit operations, collaborating closely with our diverse engineering teams.
