Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the design and development of next-generation structures, mechanisms, or interior systems for Crew Starship vehicles. Conduct hand calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) to create, evaluate, and optimize designs. Quickly iterate on manufacturing processes and development testing in a dynamic environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware compatibility with Starship systems and mission operations. Facilitate design reviews with internal teams and external partners, including NASA. Perform complex trade studies to balance cost, schedule, safety, and performance considerations. Oversee project timelines from initial design through to production, launch, and recovery. Exhibit technical excellence and accountability for your work. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.1+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis (internships included). PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis. Leadership experience in an engineering or project team setting. Strong proficiency in engineering software tools and design methodologies.

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Crew Starship team, you will play a crucial role in designing and building spacecraft systems that ensure the safety and success of future astronauts. Your responsibilities will span various disciplines, including primary and secondary structures, mechanisms, and crew-interfacing hardware. Your innovative design solutions will be instrumental for all upcoming Crew Starship missions, including those to the Moon and Mars. This position demands complete ownership of hardware, from initial design through to analysis, prototyping, qualification, and integration.
