Your Role

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our distinguished Autonomous Vehicle Hardware team. You will lead the research, design, and implementation of hardware solutions that empower our autonomous systems. Your responsibilities will include packaging electronics and sensors, technology development, and vehicle integrations tailored to customer programs. You will create robust hardware solutions that support our L4 autonomy system across various platforms and operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering design and development of autonomous hardware required for the Nuro Driver system on customer platforms.
  • Collaborate with vehicle partners to specify and integrate systems that meet performance needs and customer requirements.
  • Work across cross-functional teams to develop and execute sensing and electronics architecture for self-driving robots intended for widespread public road deployment.
  • Benchmark performance, integration, and reliability of electronics technologies to guide make vs. buy decisions.
  • Identify and manage key suppliers to transition concepts into production-ready solutions.
  • Oversee the design and validation of parts and assemblies from proof-of-concept through to production readiness.
  • Implement quality improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements for parts.
  • Effectively communicate technical decisions and ongoing issues to management.
