Your Impact:
As a part of Dedrone, a global leader in airspace defense technology and counter UAS solutions, you will play a crucial role in delivering innovative solutions that keep us at the forefront of technological advancement.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have complete design ownership of next-generation cUAS technology, from initial concept through to production, with your work being highly visible to our executive leadership. The collaboration with passionate leaders and cross-functional teams—including product managers, electrical engineers, industrial designers, and manufacturing teams—is essential for our success in ensuring public safety for future generations.

This position emphasizes mechanical design, thermal analysis, prototyping, and system integration. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in CAD modeling, structural optimization, and hands-on prototyping, focusing on developing durable and high-performance designs suitable for various operational environments.

Location: Onsite at our Sterling, VA office.
What You’ll Do:

  • Lead innovative product development from concept to manufacturing, ensuring designs adhere to durability and reliability standards.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills to conceptualize new product architectures for subsystem and system-level designs.
  • Construct and evaluate high-fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Conduct detailed mechanical analyses to ensure functionality through FEA, tolerance analysis, testing, and exploratory methods.
  • Engage regularly with domestic and international stakeholders.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, empowering environment.
  • Enhance your engineering expertise in a dynamic learning environment focused on personal and professional growth.
  • Thoroughly document and manage design specifications, production processes, and compliance requirements.
