Position Overview
We are actively seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with extensive expertise in structural analysis and static load testing. This pivotal role involves conducting analysis, testing, and validation of space vehicle structures. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in NASTRAN, finite element modeling, and quasi-static load cases, while exhibiting creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to tackle complex engineering challenges independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with test engineers and technicians to perform static load testing (SLT) at AST’s Site 2 in Midland, Texas.
- Conduct thorough structural analysis of space vehicles, identify potential failure cases, and establish safety margins.
- Convert load states into static qualification tests for structural assemblies.
- Support design engineers and interdisciplinary engineering teams.
- Evaluate and resolve non-conformance issues.
- Engage in failure review boards.
- Assist dynamic analysis teams with Load Test Method (LTM) definition for Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA).
